Dilfer Says UAB’s Milliner to Miss Extended Time

BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA - September 23, 2025

Wide receiver Corri Milliner is still on the UAB roster but will be away from the team for an uncertain amount of time, according to UAB head coach Trent Dilfer.

“Love Corri, (I) worked really hard, all of us have, to work with Corri,” Dilfer told al.com after Tuesday’s bye week practice. “Corri needs to make some decisions that are best for the team.” Dilfer later added that he thinks “it was a cumulative effect of a lot of things,” that led the situation with Milliner.

Milliner, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound redshirt sophomore, was not with the team during this past weekend’s trip to Knoxville for a game against then-15th ranked Tennessee. Milliner started each of UAB’s first three games and still leads the team in receiving yards (268) and receiving touchdowns (3). He practiced with the team last week but was not on the field during the 56-24 loss to the Volunteers.

Milliner had touchdowns in five consecutive games and six of the past seven dating back to last season.

The Blazers move forward with a group of receivers that played well in the loss to Tennessee. Dilfer said during his appearance on Blazer Sportsline on Monday night that blocking will determine what the receiver rotation looks like.

“I'll tell you, the only ones that are playing in the games these days are the ones that like to block,” Dilfer said. “No block, no rock. We've made that very clear in the last 10 days. Yeah, you're going to block.”

Milliner received a run block grade of 59.1 during his three appearances this season.
